I bought a platinum ring here 2 years ago for over $5,000. Lisa appraised it at $8,775. Now I'm trying to sell it back to her or any othe shop in town and can't get an offer over $500. I know they need to make money but it seems like I should be able to get at least half the money back out of it. I got screwed by lisa's gold and diamonds.
If you are taking scrap gold they will give fare market value. If you are looking to have something appraised do not take it there. I took two antique watches wanting a full assessment of value for insurance reasons and all they did was take a quick look and give me scrap price not real price. I was expecting a written report on movement, case types, s/n etc. I had this done before but lost my paperwork (not by them). I wanted it done again so I would have proper paperwork and proof of what I have. I will take them to someone else to have this done from now on.
I was not impressed. This place was recommended by my sister who purchased her husband's ring here. I usually prefer a local shop because the service is so much better, but apparently that is not always true. We were told to ask for Lisa, but she was busy with another customer. We were helped by a younger lady who was not very enthusiastic or eager to help us at all. The selection of men's wedding bands was pretty small, but that was on par with most jewelry stores in the area. What really disappointed me was the service, especially when they came so highly recommended.
Sized my ring wrong i had to cut it off . wouldn't fix it without me paying . purchased a 200 dollar ring back for 42dollars . I found the receipt. want to give me the rest of my money ?
